OPTIMIZE THE POWER OF YOUR MIND.
Some people focus on developing their conscious mind and refining their thinking. This can improve personal level of functioning through better executive decision making. Optimizing all this potential ‘mind power’ is a powerful strategy for success.
…Are you eager to expand the power of your mind?
OUR CONSCIOUS MIND IS THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG.
But our conscious mind is just a small part of the whole. Our decision making and thinking is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s a small fraction of the ‘mind power’ we have access to!
There is also a ‘universal mind’ that we can connect to via our subconscious mind. This extended mind is like the hidden part of the iceberg. This subconscious power exists under the surface. It is orders of magnitude greater than our conscious mental functioning.
…Are you focusing enough on your sub-conscious mind?
WE CAN CONNECT TO THE UNIVERSAL MIND.
We have so much untapped ability and capacity! There is a hidden world of potential we have not yet unlocked. Most don’t realize this! The interface to this new realm is our subconscious mind. We can access these vast resources with just a little practice. A universe of new insights and possibilities will emerge. These can then be incorporated into our conscious awareness.
…Do you want to harness your untapped ability and potential?
THE UNIVERSAL MIND GIVES INFINITE SOLUTIONS.
The potential benefits of tapping into this ‘universal mind’ are literally astronomical. A whole universe of possibilities and solutions exist for us to explore. We can then use this expanded mental ability to benefit ourselves and also those around us. We can potentially benefit all humanity. The universal mind is a shared resource, so we also connect with all others through this field of collective human consciousness.
…Are you excited to tap into these universal possibilities?
MOST USE A SMALL PART OF THEIR BRAIN POWER.
We have the equivalent of a quantum supercomputer at our disposal. We access this through our human mind. We direct this with our conscious thoughts.
However, normally we only use a fraction of this creative capacity. So, we only achieve a minute fraction of our true potential. Most people utilize the equivalent of a cheap laptop when we have the world’s most powerful supercomputer at our disposal. Plus, this super-computer comes with the biological equivalent of computer programmers & engineers on standby. What a waste not to use all this. What a shame!
…Are you keen to expand the power of your brain?
OUR SUPERCOMPUTER NEVER SLEEPS.
We are all capable of so much more, simply by better utilizing the enormous capacity of our brain’s supercomputer. We can significantly improve the quality of our life experience and the impact we make on the world! Our supercomputer & support team can work for us 24 hours a day, even when we are asleep. They can help solve even the most difficult problems for us.
How do we control our mind’s supercomputer? How do we put it to best use? How do we instruct our virtual team of programmers & engineers and convey what we want? We don't need to understand all the technicalities for it to work. But let’s explore these questions further.
WE ARE THE CEO OF OUR SUPERCOMPUTER!
The answer is simpler than you might think. A further analogy might help explain this…The CEO of a technology company doesn’t need to be a scientist or engineer to manage the team. The CEO sets the agenda and assesses the results.
We can utilize our brain’s supercomputer in a similar way. We can think of ourselves as the CEO of our mind. We don’t need to learn all the intricacies of computer programming and software engineering.
As the CEO of our mind, we simply express our wishes through our thoughts. The management team then converts that request into technical code and commands for the supercomputer to use. In this way, we can personally direct and thus utilize our own biological supercomputer.
OUR REQUESTS MUST BE CLEAR & HEARTFELT.
But in order for our ‘support team’ to clearly understand what we really want, we must communicate our wishes very carefully. The request should have a strong purpose or intent. Ideally there should be no associated doubt, hesitancy or fear. We should be fully committed to the request, from our own free will. Heartfelt decisions are the most powerful.
So, we must come to a clear decision and hold that intent. That decision is then passed down to ‘the team’ that takes care of the technical implementation.
…Are you sending clear decisions to your supercomputer?
OUR BIOLOGICAL COMPUTER IS USER-FRIENDLY.
The good news is that our biological supercomputer is much more user-friendly than the silicon-based variety! All we need to do is make a clear and deliberate conscious choice. That’s how simple it is to instigate and direct the process.
Our biological computer ‘support team’ will prompt us with various options or suggestions. These prompts can be new thoughts that will rise up from our subconscious. They can also take the form of feelings, emotions and insights.
Our job as CEO is simply to agree or not with the options presented and to assess the resultant effect. We express our gratitude for the solution or result. This grateful attitude encourages further solutions along the same line. This is the simple way we direct the process.
…Are you starting to recognize the suggestions from your subconscious?
SUBCONSCIOUS BIAS CAN LEAD US ASTRAY!
The subconscious mind is designed to help anticipate future benefit and risk. But this can be biased by our prior experience & conditioning. The bias in our thoughts, feelings and emotions can lead us astray! It’s much like predictive text correction. Sometimes we have to override the predictive programming because it doesn’t allow for new possibilities that we haven’t experienced before!
…Have you observed unhelpful bias in your decision making?
INCREASE YOUR AWARENESS & OBJECTIVITY.
By optimally utilizing our mind we can make better choices. Then we can create a much better life! But this requires ‘hands on’ executive control like a CEO. In personal transformation, optimal executive control comes from a ‘higher awareness’. This means being fully aware of our thoughts and actions.
We are more mindful of our thinking and behavior. We do this from a neutral or un-attached perspective. This objective and panoramic view is termed ‘higher awareness’.
…Do you look for the bigger picture of what is going on?
OUR HIGHER SELF IS A QUIET BUT WISE VOICE.
The best form of prompting or guidance we can get is from the highest levels of our mind. These highest parts of our mind are our ‘higher self’ or ‘inner self’. This is a quiet voice that we sometimes hear when we are still, relaxed and quiet. Our higher self can also manifest as a gentle nudge or an inner knowing.
…Are you quietening your mind to better hear your inner voice?
THE LOWER MIND IS LOUD & OVERBEARING.
Our ego will constantly offer us its loud proposals. The ego is always demanding and pushing us towards what it wants to do next. On the other hand, the quiet voice of our higher self is never demanding. Our higher level of mind is more difficult to access than our ego and lower mind. Tuning into our quiet inner voice initially takes considerable attention, focus and practice.
…Are you getting better at separating your inner voice from your ego?
OUR EGO CAN HIJACK MAJOR LIFE DECISIONS.
The ego is trying to help us in the best way it knows how. But it's primarily concerned with its own survival. Plus, the ego’s response is limited and biased by past programming and experiences. This can only be overridden by new, deliberate instructions from the CEO. So, to make a change, it’s important that we have clear intentions and make conscious decisions.
We must make confident conscious decisions as a CEO would. Otherwise, our ego will automatically make the choice for us! Too often we are ignorant of the way our mind works. Or we are lazy, uncommitted or sloppy with our decision making! Then the lower mind’s ‘fuzzy-logic’ function automatically selects the usual past response. This is like using an autopilot function.
CHOOSE WHAT YOU DELEGATE TO THE EGO.
Our mind makes hundreds of low-level decisions every hour. It would be exhausting and inefficient to consciously make all these minor decisions. It’s healthy to delegate some low-level decision making to the subconscious. This frees up time and energy for the CEO to consciously focus on what is truly important.
…Are you overthinking minor decisions and ignoring important ones?
DON’T MAKE MAJOR DECISIONS ON AUTOPILOT!
Our ego and lower mind are a powerful tool for simple, low-level decisions. For example, what brand of toothpaste to buy or how to get from point A to B. But it is dangerous to rely on the ego for bigger or more personal life decisions.
It’s very risky to give up control of important personal choices, particularly when they affect our life direction! We must not let our ego hijack our major life decisions. The ego’s biased response may not be optimal for our life. We discuss more strategies to escape the ego in the next chapter.
