Using Battery Candles For Your Wedding

For your wedding consider replacing the old style wax and wick candles with the new safe battery candles. Today churches and wedding halls can no longer have open flame candles in the wedding ceremonies? More and more insurance companies and county fire safety laws are restricting the use of open flame candles in public places. The following is a summery of what you should be looking for in a flameless battery candle. The most common style of battery candles use a clear 3-volt flame light bulb that is steady burning and most of them use two AA-size batteries. The batteries are usually not included with them. To conserve the battery power, turn the candles off when not needed. Most flameless candles have a twist gold ring at the top of the candle tube as a switch.

Candles make a great highlight for your wedding table, night candlelight services and wedding bouquets. At night weddings there is nothing like a battery candle lighting up the night.

Tips on Battery Candle construction:

The battery candles usually have a plastic tube to represent the was part of the candle. Look for a candle with a base that can be removed so you can also use them as hand held candles in the service. You can just untwist the white candle tube from the gold base. Also look for a candle tube that will fit into a standard taper candleholder so they can be used in candles holders or lobbers. These candles are also perfect for after the wedding parties, bridesmaids wedding candles, candle favors or for countless other candle uses.

The flame light bulbs for the battery operated candles are usually included. The battery operated candles are for indoor use or dry outside use. A candle with two alkaline AA batteries will last about 50 hours, which is much longer than most weddings. Check to make sure they are United States UL approved battery candles. Complete use and care instructions for the candle should also be included.

The candles bulb is equipped with threaded screw in connecter. Make sure that you do not over tighten the light bulbs causing the protective glass covering to break or crack. Replace the proper candle light bulbs with like voltage replacement light bulbs when the original bulb burns out.

Flameless Candles News:

With the warm glow and fragrant scents, wax flamed candles are a popular home decor item during the holiday season. Sadly last year wax candle-related fires destroy 15,000 homes in the United States. The answer to this problem is the flameless battery candles. The candles will give your home a safe candle like feeling. These candles can also be used safely as table lights when the power goes off, as night lights, emergency lights. Anywhere there are no electrical outlets available. The battery candle lamps will never melt away, never burn down or never need replacing. You can enjoy battery candles for years without ever having to replace them. You can have peace of mind and not worry about the harmful, unsightly soot and messy wax that is often created by burning traditional wax candles.

Battery Warnings:

Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix standard (Carbon zinc), alkaline or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. Do not place the product in your mouth. Wash you hands after handling any metal parts of this product.

Your Wedding Linens Have An Irish History Behind Them

If you are attending a wedding, odds are that you will see all the furniture covered with wedding linen rentals. The chair that you sit on, the table and even the napkins will usually be high quality wedding linen rentals. If you look at most of the fabrics used in a wedding and reception, most of them are, or could be, made out of linen, cotton or even silk. Linen is sometimes a general term that many people do not quite understand. One thing that many find interesting and are surprised by is the fact that linens have a deep history in most of Europe. Your wedding linens may have a deep Irish history.

It is generally accepted that actual linen, made from flax fibers, was first grown in Ireland around 900-1000 BC. The cultivation of flax for the use of linens was huge; even before the start of the more modern centuries, flax was grown in large quantities. Nearly every person in Ireland had clothing made from linen. The leaders of Ireland encouraged the growth of the industry, and because of this, the linen industry in Ireland blossomed. By the 1700’s, Ireland was exporting their linens across the globe. Ireland was even exporting to the British colonies in America. The span of Ireland’s exporting of linen shows the early strength of the country’s linen industry. Ireland continued to prosper in the linen industry, generally without the use of wedding linens, a major source for the industry today.

When the cotton industry began to grow, the linen industry had to find ways to not only stay competitive, but to introduce linens in new ways. The linens were beginning to be sold in hospitals and hotel rooms in both high quality and low quality linens. Because of the high quality available with the Irish linens, and the rich tradition behind the cultivating and spinning of the actual linen, Irish linen was/still is considered something of a more luxurious fabric. The look and feel of the linen gave it the luxurious qualities that many people look for, especially for wedding linens. Learn more about wedding linen rentals by visiting http://www.magicalpartyrentals.com.

Irish linens started being used for things such as weddings and parties. Because of the material used to make linens, the actual fabric can handle some rough wear and tear. The fabric started to be used as wedding chair covers and table covers to soak up spills and take a beating that the tables might not be able to handle. Because of the way that the actual fabric itself is made, it can absorb spills and drips. It quickly absorbs them, and eventually, the tablecloth or chair may not even feel damp or wet.

Wedding linen rentals have found themselves in weddings and at parties not only because of their strong and durable qualities, but also because of their look and versatility. Wedding linen rentals have allowed couples to furnish their wedding reception in a way that they like. They can choose the colors and the textures to match the rest of their decorations. Napkins, table covers, and chair covers have allowed those throwing a party to give the ambiance more of an elegant, sophisticated feel. While the linen you have used or will use in the future may not have been made or grown in Ireland, the country has a deep-rooted history in the industry. Much like other European nations, Ireland’s history with linens and textiles has allowed them to hone the craft of linen making. So, when you find yourself planning your special day and choosing your wedding linen rentals, the color and style you choose may be as rich and interesting looking as the history of how the fabrics all came to be.

How Much Do Celebrity Weddings Cost?

We all love to read about celebrity weddings but some of them cost more than we earn in a lifetime! Many celebrities have millions of dollars to spend and, when money is no object, the sky seems to be the limit with their wedding possibilities. Catherine Zeta Jones’s wedding dress alone cost over $100,000. Elton John and David Furnish had 600 guests attending their nuptials.

The most expensive celebrity wedding was when producer David Gest married Oscar-winning entertainer Liza Minelli. This cost them a whopping $3.5 million! It was Liza’s fourth wedding and the pair married in New York’s Marble Collegiate church in March 2002. The couple registered for 389 wedding gifts from Tiffany & Co, including twelve silver platters and new crystal and flatware. Elizabeth Taylor was the maid of honor and Michael Jackson was the best man. There were around 500 guests, including Lauren Bacall, Diana Ross and Mia Farrow. Tony Bennett provided the entertainment, backed by a 60 piece orchestra. Natalie Cole also sang at the nuptials. The wedding cake had 12 tiers and every received a personalized wedding favor in a satin candy box embossed with the words “Liza and David 4 Ever”. Liza and David divorced within a year.

Other celebrities are prepared to spend similar amounts of money on their weddings. When Paul McCartney married Heather Mills in June 2002, they spent $3 million. Their wedding was an elaborate ceremony at Castle Leslie in Ireland and 300 family members and friends attended.

When Indian businessman Arun Nayar wed model/actress Elizabeth Hurley in March 2007, they enjoyed 8 days of festivities. They had 300 guests including designer Valentino and Elton John. The couple married in Gloucestershire’s Sudeley Castle. They had a second traditional Hindu ceremony in the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India. Palace-view Maharani suites cost a minimum of $10,000 per night. The total cost of their double ceremony was $2.5 million.

Tom Cruise’s wedding to Katie Holmes set them back $2 million. They married in November 2006 in the beautiful 15th century Odescalchi Castle near Rome, Italy. Their guest list include superstars like Jennifer Lopez, David and Victoria Beckham and Jada Pinkett Smith. Katie’s off the shoulder ivory silk gown was designed personally by Giorgio Armani.

The wedding between Larry Fortensky and Elizabeth Taylor also cost $2 million. The couple married in October 1991 and it was Elizabeth’s 8th wedding. The wedding was held at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch. Elizabeth Taylor wore a pale yellow wedding dress by Valentino. There were 150 guests, including Eddie Murphy, Nancy Reagan and Liza Minelli.

When real estate mogul Donald Trump wed model Melania Knauss in January 2005, they spend $1 million on the proceedings. They married at the Bethesda by the Sea Episcopalian Church in Palm Beach. They had a reception for 400 guests and celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten catered the event which a 36 piece orchestra provided the music. Melania wore a strapless Christian Dior wedding gown made from 300 feet of satin and beaded with 1,500 crystals. Her train was 13 feet long and weighed 50 lbs.

While not all celebrities choose to spend millions of dollars on their big day, most of them want to make their day as special as possible and if they can afford it, why not!

Wedding Reception Theme Ideas

Distinct themes are becoming an extremely popular way for couples to express themselves in a unique way while exchanging their wedding vows and having the perfect reception. When planning a theme wedding, using creativity and personality allow brides-to-be the chance to have that wedding they’ve always dreamed of, and one that will also leave guests delighted and enchanted.

Deciding On the Perfect Wedding Reception Theme

The very first thing to keep in mind when deciding on the absolute best theme for your wedding reception is, what type of bride do you consider yourself to be? Romantic? Classic? Chic? Traditional? This actually sets the entire tone of the day, from the venue, to the bridal party’s attire, to the flowers, the music, and even the type of food served. You won’t want to have classic violin music playing while wearing a full cathedral length gown amid dozens of roses and then serve your guests sandwiches and snacks.

Another thing that will help you both decide on one specific theme to follow is, what are your interests and hobbies, and how did you and your fianc? meet? Next, be sure to ask family and friends if they know of any great spots for a wedding nearby, and then check in your local phone book where most will have detailed information about places of interest in the surrounding areas before the actual phone listings begin. The internet is an exceptional and limitless resource for finding the perfect place, and then finding ideas for incorporating the right theme for your wedding day.

All-inclusive resorts are great for having one particular theme for your wedding and reception, especially for the beach-themed wedding, or those based on a specific location or landmark, such as Hawaii, Las Vegas, or Niagara Falls. While this option may be more expensive than most, it may be worth considering if you’d like to leave all of the important details of the event to the professionals and concentrate on things such as your dress, hair and make-up for the big day.

Outdoor Themes

Exchanging vows right near a lake as the sun sets over the water provides the perfect romantic background for the start to any wedding. Old farmhouses with their rustic charm can be turned into a grand place to hold a reception, and estates, mansions, castles, museums and historic buildings all make wonderful spots to have a magnificent themed wedding reception.

Here are some other wedding reception theme ideas to consider:

- Butterfly

- Cultural

- Decade specific

- Fairy tale

- Garden

- Historical

- Holiday

- Musical

- Nautical

- Renaissance

- Romantic

- Rustic

- Seasonal

- Western

Besides all of these theme ideas, there are countless more to consider as the sky’s the limit when it comes to having your wedding reception in a place that’s special or important to the two of you in some way. Put your minds together until you’ve settled on just the right spot for you, and then allow plenty of time for finding, planning, and handling all of the details that will be necessary for planning the wedding of your dreams.

Never Forgotten Memories!

Videography. What is it and how can it enhance my life?

This is generally the question when people ask about Family and Wedding Videography. And there are answers!

A couple of years back I was looking for a Wedding Videographer for myself. I didn’t exactly know what I was looking for at the time. All I knew was that I wanted someone to record my Wedding on video. And walla…. I found my passion in life.

After I had hired out my Wedding Videographer I really had learned all about this new wave of Wedding Videography that was taking over the Wedding Industry.

After hiring my Wedding Videographer and getting my Wedding Video back I realized that this was the coolest thing I had taken away from my Wedding, besides my husband of course! It was a way for me to remember my Wedding forever!

After that I made a decision that has be positively affecting my life! I became a Family and Wedding Videographer!

So what is a Videographer? Or better yet, what is Videography?

When a Videographer films a Wedding, they use their professional eye to capture moments on a professional grade camcorder at the Wedding. After the Wedding day is over, the Wedding Videographer takes the footage of the Wedding day and Reception and cinematically takes the best part of the footage and puts the clips together to create an unforgettable experience by turning your Wedding day into a Hollywood Style movie!

At first it was only stars and rich people that were able to afford Videography for anything in their lives. Now days, it is becoming more well known and more desirable because the price is better! Now days anyone can afford a Wedding Videographer.

Not only can you afford a Wedding Videographer, it will be the best thing that you spend your money on at your child’s Wedding, guaranteed! A video cinematically put together for your child’s Wedding will help you preserve your memories and people in you lives forever.

Can you imagine having footage of your parents Wedding day? How awesome would that be to see what was going on at the times of your parent’s lives and how everyone in your family looked and acted that long time ago?

Now think of what our children and posterity will see. Wouldn’t they love to have a clip of this Genealogy to always have? What a treasure that would be! So do it for yourself and do it for your family and prosperity.

Life deserves a little treat so make sure that you not only document your Wedding by video by a Videographer, have them take videos of your family moment and other special events in your life such as birthdays baptisms, confirmations, programs, births, and any other special moments you want to never be forgotten. You don’t think much on it now, but rest assured, one day you’ll be wanting to remember those memories you had long ago, and what better way to remember them than by just popping in a DVD!
